Mary Swanson first started practicing Family and Juvenile law in 1979 in Riverside and was a solo practitioner for many years. In 2004, her paralegal and friend, Marie Moreno Myers, passed the bar and the firm Swanson and Myers was founded. Although Mary retired from practice in 2006, she continued to consult for Swanson and Myers. In 2009, NaKesha Ruegg, who is Mary Swanson’s daughter, joined the firm Swanson and Myers and began practicing family law with Marie Moreno Myers.
Mary Swanson and NaKesha Ruegg, wanting to start a new firm together, left Swanson and Myers in December 2010 and the new firm of Swanson and Ruegg was born. Mary Swanson came out of retirement to work part time with her daughter, NaKesha Ruegg, as of January 1, 2011.
